Ni hao,
OK everyone. We're at a point and time in which we should have a good idea where the other delegates stand. It's now time to start drafting resolutions. Remember, a resolution is a list of reasons why this a problem followed by a list of ideas for solving this problem. You will recieve a sheet that explains the proper format and language of resolutions before you leave today. These assignments are due in my gmail by 10:00 p.m. this Sunday evening.
Xie xie!
Mr. Gibson
P.S. Nice job again to everyone who applied for Taipei!
Here's what you should ALL be asking yourselves as you write resolutions...
ReplyDelete* Is it THOROUGH enough to actually fix the problem? Is every part of the problem from the cause, to the solution, to the FUNDING, to how funds will get distributed included in the resolution?
* Is it SPECIFIC enough in terms of its' solutions to the problem? Is every solution accounted for? Is every solution FEASIBLE?
* Does your resolution have enough "POLITICAL CAPITAL" to get passed? Will enough delegates vote for it? Will people and any sort of institution that will fund your solution (such as the IMF, World Bank, national gvoernments) actually pay for the solution?
P.S. Keep the SAMPLE RESOLUTIONS handy as you work everything out.
