The World Bank

Hello all,

Here is a quick overview of The World Bank. Peggy Huang (GCP 10) will be the representative from The World Bank.

The World Bank is where most of the money for UN projects comes from. If your solution includes building something or paying for a program, then you are going to need to get your money from The World Bank (Peggy).

However, if you get money from The World Bank, then you are going to have to do some things that The World Bank wants you too.


Keep in mind that The World Bank is not universally popular. Many people do not like it. In 1999, anti-WTO protests lead to a big riot in Seattle during a WTO meeting. It is unpopular because many people believe that The WTO is more concerned with corporate profits than human and economic development.
